I got a question. why the hell is it an exe file? that just scares me it seems too much like a virus

Well, then don't run it. It is a self-extracting executable file. All it is is a archive with the parts of 7zip required to unzip the archive. It can also be interfaced in the same way as any other archive, using your favorite decompression utility. It was done this way to make it easy for pros and newbies alike. I think people would stop using the website if it were used to distribute viruses, as a result all uploads are scanned by at least 2 current anti-virus engines.
